We had the honor of connecting with some of the city’s brightest female leaders and role models and we asked them our question of the month: What is the best advice you have for someone who feels like they are facing insurmountable odds.

Below, you’ll find their advice and links and other info so you can learn more about them, their work and how to connect with them. We’ll be interviewing many of these amazing women in the coming weeks, stay tuned.

You were chosen to live this life because God knew you would make it through. You’re never alone; look to Him for balance, focus, and strength. You’re lucky to say you’ve been through this obstacle because your experience can be used as motivation for the next trial. Understand, there will be other trials but you get stronger and stronger even when you don’t feel like it. There’s always sunshine after the rain & a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep pushing through because believe it or not, someone’s looking to you and praying for you to succeed.

When facing difficulties, I always say take exactly one day to cave into your emotions. Then the next day ask yourself why is this situation so difficult, write down the pros and cons, realistically create a plan of action that is achievable, and always ask for help. Daunting challenges provide life and business lessons so whatever the outcome embrace the lesson learned. Hustle and heart.

The best advice I can give someone who is facing a challenge they feel is insurmountable is to take a step back and analyze your abilities and how you can apply them to the situation in the best possible way. And if the task is still difficult for you, think outside the box, ask for advice, and learn everything you can. And it’s very important to always stay positive and confident that you are capable of doing anything you set your mind to. All challenges are assignments that life gives us to grow and develop ourselves.

First I would say to take a step back and take a deep breath and realize that you can and will overcome this challenge. All challenges are put in front of us to help us learn a valuable lesson about ourselves. And understanding that great things take time will help you overcome challenges that sometimes feel insurmountable. As long as you are determined and consistent know that you are on the right track, remember slow and steady wins the race.

Start by writing down the big goal you have and follow that up with small daily tasks that can help you accomplish that main goal. Celebrate your small victories, believe in yourself and don’t forget to take time for yourself so you do not feel burnt-out! ”

The best advice I have for someone who is facing a challenge they feel is insurmountable, is to slow down, take things one day at a time, and remember you’re only human. I struggle with this same problem as a business owner and it can be overwhelming. But if you prioritize, organize your thoughts and make a plan, you can tackle any challenge life throws at you!

The best advice I have for someone who is facing a challenge they feel is insurmountable is to first trust God. One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6 because it reminds me to trust in Jesus. Also to pray! Communication is key and remember that there is no issue in your life impossible for God to handle. Finally, change and renew your mindset. A great book that I am reading is Joyce Meyer Battlefield of the Mind. Before you can overcome the situation, you have to defeat it in your mind.

When facing a challenge, the best thing you can do is to continue to move forward no matter how difficult it may seem in the moment. If it were easy, you would never try to learn new ways to accomplish goals or cope with situations. These are the best times to grow as a person, learn your strengths, and understand your determination. The challenge may take days, weeks, or years, but the outcome is worth it. Don’t give up when the going gets tough, you’ll be glad you stuck it out in the end.

When I feel I’m facing a challenge I can’t control, I leave everything in God’s hands. I pray to him and let him know that whatever happens, its going for the best of my life.
Sometimes we will encounter situations like that and we have to know that this can happen anytime and multiple times. It’s up to us the attitude that we have and how we want to handle it. You choose whether to be happy or overthink the problem. I won’t lie, sometimes it gets me, and I can be mad or sad. Its takes me a little while to remember that my happiness relies on me. And I always choose to see the beauty and learn about every situation.

Master the 24 hours in front of you! The paper towel effect of 1% at a time is so important – it adds up to a lot before you even realize it. I choose to ask myself – have I handled (and dominated!) everything that’s in MY control? If so, the weight of everything else is not mine to bear.

“As a woman of faith, my first response is to pray about it. Asking for wisdom, guidance and strength to get through it. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

Second, seek the advice of mentors, form a plan and get to work. Break down what needs to be done into smaller parts that you may be able to delegate so that you can focus on the pieces that only you can do.

Third, give it your all and do the best that you can do. At then end of the day, that’s all anyone can ask. Be grateful of the help given and be proud of YOU!

If I could talk to anyone facing a challenge that they feel is drowning them or overwhelming them, I would tell them that sometimes we can allow our minds to defeat us before even trying to take actions towards the task or challenge itself. The key is finding a positive solution to attack the issues. Step by step. So many times we try to rush to make it happen in our own timing but that’s just not how life works. To the new entrepreneurs, I urge you to keep it positive and to keep it pushing forward because it’s not about how many times we fall….BUT how many times we get back up. You know that saying….:-) When you feel overwhelmed and feel like there’s no way out or up, you should pray harder in these moments and bring your focus back to what it is you are truly wanting to do. Remember who is depending on you? Do you have kids that will not be able to make it without you? Do you have employees that will not be able to feed their kids if your business is not coming out okay? Let this continue to motivate you and guide you. Lean on family and friends that TRULY support you and your vision. Don’t focus on the things that seems to keep going wrong because it will be a lot of these moments that will make you question your own sanity and this my friend is your breakthrough on its way! These are the things that make us stronger and wiser and versatile to handle and manage anything that may go wrong or off track. I can wholeheartedly understand the struggles and doubts and the fears when trying to build your own legacy. Don’t get consumed with all the naysayers and doubts. Continue to pray and put in the work for the dream you wish to build. And hopefully along the way you will find your tribe of people and support team that you can help and build with them along the way. Because I honestly feel that all entrepreneurs should have their support team. We cannot do it alone! Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it! Take your time and tactfully plan out your vision and put in the work to make it happen and once you make it, try to look for those who may need a helping hand up to their next level as well because like the famous Tyler Perry recently stated in his acceptance speech (In summary), I am not trying to get a seat at their table, I’m trying to build my own…..so I can help my own.

At some point in our lives, we all encounter impossible challenges that it seems like the whole world is conspiring against us. These challenges are present in our lives because it teaches us lessons that will make us grow a lot stronger. The advice I would give would be what I had to tell myself, not that long ago, I had almost given up on pursing my dream for good. However, if you have a pure passion for what it is you have dreamed of, BELIEVING in yourself is the first step to overcoming any obstacle life will throw your way. You must have faith and know that anything worth having in life requires effort & dedication. If you can dream it, you can achieve it.

I strongly believe that together we are stronger, so if someone is facing a insurmountable challenge finding somebody at least to share it with, someone that can hear you is a good help, so many times my clients discover the answer to their challenges just by listening to themselves when they are sharing it with me. Also that everything shall pass and this challenge is not an exception and we have the power to overcome everything that life bring us, we are strong. You have succeeded to everything in the past, you will succeed again.
