Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Bridges.
Lisa, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Since I was twelve years old photography has shaped the way I express myself. Having a camera in my hand, capturing the world around me allowed me to develop a love for observation, people, and nature. My interest in photography was sparked by my Dad and Granddad. Both of them taught me an appreciation of the natural world, so flowers and nature appear throughout my work.
Over the last several years, I have been fortunate to have worked with and been surrounded by so many incredible creatives. We push each other to be better and always lend a hand. Through my own work and my work as a photo assistant, I have learned that working with a solid team of people truly makes all the difference in creating a great final product.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do? Why? And what do you hope others will take away from your work?
A little bit about my process: I am a photographer that shoots both film and digital, and I focus primarily on portraits. I want my clients and models to be themselves in front of my lens so that I really capture and represent them.
Recently, I have been creating video art. As a creative, I find inspiration and enjoyment in many mediums. I am also an aspiring florist and love to create sets with floral elements for my portrait shoots. My more personal work is inspired by plant life, flowers, and explores myself and how I feel in nature.
What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I think that for many artists, success is the feeling of sharing your work and point of view with an audience. Vulnerability is essential to expressing yourself as an artist. It takes strength to be open and share your point of view.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can currently see my work on Instagram. Reach out and say hello!
