Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Arline.
Michelle, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have always struggled with acne from the time I reached puberty through adulthood. It was during my 40’s that I had reached my limit and decided that it was time for me to really get control of the breakouts, blemishes, and inflammation on my skin. I also suffered from hair loss from using relaxers to straighten my hair. It was during this time that I was emotionally drained from breakouts and hair loss. After using countless over the counter commercial products with no positive results, I stumbled across a woman selling all-natural skin and hair care products in a local mall. I used her products over the next few weeks. I then began researching natural products and more holistic ways to reduce/rid acne breakouts and natural ways to treat my hair loss. After researching, I started creating products for my skin, which led to products for my hair. With just a few products, I began to see significant results. My blemishes began to fade, and my hair began to grow. From this point on I became a believer of natural products, which had no parabens, sulfates, or harsh chemicals. I fell in love with creating and using the products so much, that I decided to help others who had the same struggles I had. Hence the birth of Nomi’s Naturals.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Our goals are to educate and create products from all natural soaps, body butter, lotions, exfoliating scrubs to hair growth oils, butter and shampoos. We use quality ingredients that nourish you from head to toe. We are always researching and striving to create and improve products to meet the needs of our customers. We hope that our products will help others who encounter the same struggles. If we just help one person, then this vision will not be in vain, and our footprint will reach the lives of many to come.
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
One of the biggest challenges is getting people to buy into the benefits of all natural products. We have been conditioned to using commercial products, that we are afraid to try new things. Our bodies are our temples, and we have to take better care of them if we want to live healthier lives. One of the key things to remember is, we not only need to be mindful of what we put on the outside of our bodies but we also need to take care of what we put on the inside.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
