Check Out Kameka (Juice) Briggs’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kameka (Juice) Briggs.

Hi Kameka (Juice), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Oklahoma City born and bred, I graduated from Oklahoma State University-OKC with my degree in Applied Science. Along the way I went on to complete my cosmetology training and became a licensed stylist. Later, I decided to pursue my dream of medicine with an emphasis in Forensic Science. Like most typical young black women, I grew up in church and knew the traditional stories about Christ, God and Christianity. As I got older I began to question things that didn’t make logical sense to me.

Deductive reasoning and inquisitiveness is challenging for some but not most, so I began to research different things here and there and that’s when it all clicked for me. The truth about our existence…I began my spiritual journey some years ago, always staying connected to The Source/God/My Creator, but realizing I have power within myself as well. I began to study manifesting, vibrational levels and frequencies, keeping my aura free and clear of negative and low vibrational things and people.

Being a lover of beautiful things and smells, I have always loved a good smelling environment. I am a stickler for cleanliness and cannot stand clutter, so I’d always light incenses and candles after I’d clean (every day). After cleaning I was browsing online one day and I came across a candle making kit, and figured why not try it.

During the pandemic and since I was currently on lockdown with everyone else in Houston, I thought it could at least give me a new hobby to tinker with. I knew I could set intentions over any creation I brought forth and be able to change a whole atmosphere just by lighting a match. I wanted to send out positive, loving vibes that I had received from my ancestors and the universe, return them to the source and also share a piece of my love with others. I know I can interact with others when they sit in my salon chair but a candle that is hand-poured is personal, made with care and can help you Transcend anything.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not hardly. Being an entrepreneur is challenging. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome. There are days you will want to quit, give up, cry, stomp, scream, throw tantrums and even hide under the closest object until everything is all better. But then who does the work to serve the family? It hasn’t been easy at all, stagnant a lot of days, but I have the upmost faith in myself and I know it’s only a matter of time before it all pays off. Bath & Body Works is a billion dollar company, I’ve always asked myself, why can’t that be me.

Patience is the glue that holds me together.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Stylist/Loctician by trade. I specialize in cuts, color and weaves. I stepped away from hair for a while when I went back to school to finish my degree in Chemistry. Then learning all the mixtures, formulas and components when mixing my essential oils, it all came full circle for me and I love what I do.

I am most proud of my persistence, dedication and ability to learn anything.

What makes me different, is my heart. I have a heart to love, provide and nurture you right into wellness. For yourself, your future and your own well-being.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
10 years? The market is saturated but I do know one thing and two for certain, persistence pays. Magick & spirituality is a trend that will eventually subside, but those of us that live this, will still be right here.
