Community Highlights: Meet Amayrani Ayala

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amayrani Ayala.

Hi Amayrani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started to work in the floral industry when I was 19 years old at one of the first jobs I ever had. It was in a local grocery store where I was given the opportunity to get creative with floral in a Valentine’s Day event. I was clueless on what I was doing, but I was always creative. I was able to develop love and passion for flowers during that time. I worked there for three years total, and after leaving that job, I would be asked by family members and friends to create arrangements or some sort of decoration that involved floral for their special moments. After long consideration, I decided to pursue a career in the Floral industry.

In February of 2020, after a valentines pop-up shop, I had decided to open my business virtually on one of the most popular marketing tools used today… Instagram. Ever since I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of my customer’s special moments by providing our floral services to them. Now, after a lot of hard work and countless nights of no sleep, I am working in my business full time and will continue to provide the best service I am able to my customers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Things haven’t always been easy for Flower Girl Houston. There has been times where the dream seemed so far away, but fortunately, I had family and friends who always motivated me to keep pushing for my dreams. I grew up with a Single Mom for a couple of years and by her example of hustle, hard work and dedication to succeed in life is the reason why I took a leap of Faith and started Flower Girl Houston.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Here at Flower Girl, we specialize in our cylinder box arrangements; we love to create beautiful and elegant pieces for our customers. We also have a variety of Handtie arrangements, vase arrangements, heart boxes and much more! We are here to make every moment count and every memory special with our services.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
That’s a good one! My favorite childhood memory is when I was growing up. My parents would always take us to Mexico. My family is from a state called “Nuevo Leon,” and we would spend all of our holidays with our cousins and family exploring the small village they are from.
