Today we’d like to introduce you to Sturza Cosmin.
Hi Sturza, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m better known as stage name Osmia. I’m a Music Producer, Artist and Entrepreneur with a Platinum Award as Music Producer and one single placed on the Official Ballot 63rd Grammy Awards. Also, I’m the owner/founder of WAW Recordings (Independent Record Label), OA beats ( One of the biggest beats/instrumentals selling store from Europe) and various other side businesses.
I remember that I’ve started to love music around the age of 7 – 8″ when I joined a traditional folklore band from our country where I was active for about 9 years. This was also the period that formed and prepared me as an artist and I started to want to have a career in the music industry. After that, during high school, I formed a breakbeat band where I started singing, writing lyrics and to make breakdance for over 4 years. I felt that everything I did was not enough and during this 4 years period, I went deeper and started also to learn more about music creation and composition, to get involved in several music projects and be present at as many music events as possible to meet new people in the industry which finally propelled me to a new path and chapter in my artistic life as music producer.
And now … my path started to become more clear. Around the year 2009 – 2010 I bought the first music production equipment, built my first studio and set up my first company with two of my best friends who helped me with my management and development as an artist and producer. I worked on a lot of music projects, hundreds of projects day and night 24h/7days I slept in the studio and went home just to eat, I had songs on the radio, I was in live shows, music festivals, gigs and so on … until at one point it became monotonous because we were spinning in the same circle trying to launch our music projects abroad, internationally.
This is where a new chapter begins. I put my pride aside and started learning to produce new musical genres even if I didn’t like it, but over time I began to love almost any genre of music and produce them from scratch. Also here was the point where I realized that , the more you get involved and get better, the results will come sooner or later. So… in the year 2015, I released “Beyond The Limits”, my first music album which became the best streamed album in trance and uplifting trance charts which led me to a new collaboration on a song released in 2018 “Be Without You” in collaboration with Christina Novelli, one of the biggest vocal trance – house female artist from music industry, who made millions of streams.
A little bit back in time, in the year 2016, I also founded OA beats, a selling beats/instrumentals store for artists which has become till now one of the biggest in Europe. Also currently I own a independent record label company WAW Recordings, where I can sign artists and promote them.
All accumulated together, years of work, personal development and learning, led me as artist Osmia and music producer in the top music industry with a Platinum Award, big artists and labels collaborations and one single placed on the Official Ballot 63rd Grammy Awards and also as artist Osmia Music I have a considerable reputation on European/International stages like Untold Festival, SnowFest Festival and many more.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s simple. If you like what you do, YES it’s a smooth road. Of course, I have encountered many difficulties, but I have learned that the road to the smallest success in life is the most beautiful, it is the road in which you learn about yourself and what you do.
It is the way that creates memories and helps you to be better. Without all this, I don’t see how you could do anything in life from any perspective you look even if you are poor or rich. Yes, money can buy a lot and make it easier sometimes, but it can’t buy your wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom and knowledge are only from hard work.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
When I was playing with my friends outside, without internet and technology. Life was much simpler, without stress and desire to have things that do not make you happy.
