Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Cansler.
Hi Madison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am the owner of Mad Connects, a social media firm here in Houston, TX. I am originally from Beaumont, Texas. My journey began at Southern Methodist University where I received my B.A. in Fashion Media with a minor in photography and journalism. After receiving my undergraduate degree I worked at a social media firm in Dallas, TX that was started by a fellow SMU student. I loved the environment and began to excel at social media management, content creation, branding, and influencer marketing. At the company, I moved from an internship to Head of Influencer Marketing where I created the entire strategy and implementation of how to do influencer marketing for our clients.
The company had never used influencer marketing before I created it, and I ended up growing the client’s social media by 250% in a 3 month period. After this I went back to SMU to get my M.A. in Advertising to learn more about the industry. During graduate school, I decided to start Mad Connects LLC and was shocked at the success I had so quickly. I had credible clients in the Dallas area such as Brit Rose Boutique, Benge Texas, PlantSwitch, Claire Crowe Collection, Prestige Travel Group, and the TellMeTX app.
After finishing my Master’s in January, I moved to Houston, TX in April to be closer to my family and focus on growing Mad Connects LLC down here where I knew I would want to be long term. So far I have gotten a few clients in Houston such as the new luxury jewelry line called Annet Chatoyer. I am so excited and thrilled to grow my business in the Houston area. I am also currently Miss Houston International and am so excited to represent Houston in the Miss Texas International Pageant this upcoming March!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With every new adventure, there are always ups and downs. The day I decided to create Mad Connects I simply just started an Instagram account for it and began posting and advertising my talents. I received almost immediate responses from a few companies and that was extremely shocking, but a huge accomplishment for me. Getting my first client Brit Rose Boutique so quickly was real my “ah-ha,” “I can do this” moment. The flow of clients came to be mainly through word of mouth from people I was connected to in the Dallas community. However, I have always struggled with anxiety and depression and am a huge advocate for mental health awareness, and this past almost two years has been really tough of my mental health and therefore my business. Since my business solely consist of me and my amazing intern, Mackenzie Blinn, my drive and mental health always have to be fully engaged and ready to run the company. I had to take a break in January to focus on myself, and that’s when I decided that moving to Houston would be in my best interest.
I am thankful I decided to take a mental health break for myself in order to feel 100% ready to grow Mad Connects in the Houston area. So far, I am thriving in the city of Houston, but I am still navigating the city and trying to create meaningful relationships for work and social life.
As you know, we’re big fans of Mad Connects. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Mad Connects is known for excellent social media strategy and implementation, content creation, and branding.
What sets Mad Connects apart from the typical marketing company is that the business is just me and my intern, therefore with each and every client I take the time to get to know them personally, I get to know what their dream brand vision is, and I get to know what their brand values are. From there I make sure each brand I represent has all of their deeper values and missions spread to their target audience through authentic engagement, Mad Connects specializes in brand voice and brand aesthetic, and always make sure that the brands target audience knows they are more then what they are selling or offering. I truly believe behind every great brand, there needs to be authenticity.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Since my business is in the digital and social media world, I am always tapped into new creative apps, podcasts, and blogs. For work, my favorite apps to create with are Canva, Prequel, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Pixomatic. Additionally, all social media apps are constantly open on my phone due to Mad Connects being a social media firm. My favorite app to do marketing on is Instagram and Tik Tok because I truly believe a person or a company can show their authentic selves and share their brand mission and values with their audiences. The power of social media is truly such a unique tool. In addition to Mad Connects, I actually have my own podcast that I just started called Gone Mad with Madison Cansler. Gone Mad is a fun podcast that discusses individuals lows and how they reached their highs through careers and self worth. There is also some humor to take viewers along for the ride.
In addition to my personal podcast, I love The Morning Toast for my daily dose of celebrity and pop culture news, and all True Crime Podcasts.
