Life and Work with Bi Nguyen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bi Nguyen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a professional MMA fighter. I had my very first fight here at the Houston Arena Theater for Legacy Fighting Championship. Soon after becoming their National MMA champion and went on to fight for the professional world championship. Martial arts has given me the confidence and platform to give back to the community. I’m very passionate about mentoring troubled youth and empowering women in our community.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I was in a very abusive relationship from when I was 16-19 years old. That was a very dark time in my life. I lost all confidence in my self and in my future. I had to build myself from the bottom up, starting with my confidence. I’m glad that I was fearless and forged into the world. I made friends and started dating. I started to realize how beautiful, intelligent, and worthy I was. I learned that I could not do it alone. My advice to all women out there just starting on a scary new journey or facing any tough adversity is to build yourself an amazing support system. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and love you. With the support of others and the belief in yourself, you can accomplish anything! You are not alone! I am always here for you.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Killer Bee – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a professional MMA fighter. I am also a fitness coach. I don’t want to just change others eating habits and physical appearance. My main objective is to help others believe in themselves and push past those crazy limits they set on themselves. I am one of the smallest MMA fighters in the world but that never stopped me from my success. It is my confidence and tenacity that sets me apart and I want to help others feel like a badass as well!

Who have you been inspired by?
All women that dare to be different and break boundaries inspire me! Women like Misty Copeland, Gina Carano, and of course, Oprah. These fearless pioneers created their own opportunities when there wasn’t any available to women in their fields. Not only are they giants in their professions but they help to inspire and uplift women after them to do the same.
