Today we’d like to introduce you to Janessa Frazier.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Janessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Okay, so my name is Janessa. I reside in Houston but I’m original from a small town in Louisiana called Lake Charles. I currently work in Human Resources as a Benefits Specialist. Yes, I’m a corporate Bae by day M-F lol.
I got started in the influencers spectrum by taking pictures for some friends who were building up their portfolios. Once I started posting those pictures, people started telling me that I should start blogging or being an influencer.
At first, I was hesitant to start because I felt like there were already enough people doing it. Around January 2019, I decided to just go for it and haven’t looked back since. I’ve been able to meet some really cool people, do a lot of networking and work with a couple of brands. It’s something I really enjoy doing.
Has it been a smooth road?
Honestly, it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. You will hear a lot of No’s before Yes. And it requires a lot of time. It’s a lot of time management involved but it was totally worth starting. One thing I will say is don’t be afraid to reach out to brands that you really want to work with.
I would tell women want to start a business or brand to just do it! I know that’s cliche but it’s the truth. If there is something you really want to do, then just do it. Stop being your biggest critic. Once you get out of your own way, the possibilities are unlimited!
Also, know your worth and add tax to it! Don’t sell yourself short and work hard for what you want. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed that you went for it.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
Okay, so I’m a Lifestyle Influencer. I love being able to help brands promote their businesses. I also love being able to help smaller businesses especially women entrepreneurs as well.
I’m most known for my outgoing personality! People love it so much I’ve been asked a couple of times to start Vlogging. Believe it or not but being on camera makes me nervous lol so this will be interesting. Vlogging is next up on my list so wish me luck!
I am proud of myself for stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying new things! I love being able to give honest feedback to those who ask me anytime I post something on my social media sites. Without honesty, you really don’t have much.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Okay, so I love “Girl, Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis! I’m also reading “Becoming” by Michelle Obama & “Influencer” by Brittany Hennessy.
All influencers or those inspiring to be an influencer should most definitely read “Influencer”! It has so many good nuggets and insights into it.
