Today we’d like to introduce you to Khelia Olison Williams and Yanique Nelson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We have had a great partnership for over 11 years with bringing our creativity while fostering an exciting environment for our middle school students. Each year, we would tap into our imagination, utilizing our own resources to decorate classrooms, sponsor fundraisers and plan themed events and activities with our style and flair to boost school morale. During these events, we displayed our craftiness and love for paper decor which expanded into numerous inquiries for customized orders, which initiated the start of Petal Pushers in July 2018.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The journey has been rewarding, but there has been some challenges and lessons learned along the way. The advice we would give is that you must understand your creative value and how to price your product. Secondly, finding methods on how to properly manage customer request and building our brand, while having a demanding career.
