Life and Work with Miri Teresa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miri Teresa.

Miri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am Miri Teresa. I am an artisan who expresses my thoughts thru color. I am an author whose story is told in my everyday steps across the earth. I am an activist whose march is expressed through the actions I take to change the world.

It has always been my desire to share the trail I take as I operate my business affairs. iMiTs Art is one of my parent companies that lit the way to so many different avenues of success. From supporting creative artists to empowering community entrepreneurship, I believe in assisting the unified front our society needs to prosper.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Honestly, the road has be tedious and worth every tear. From people not trusting my process to deciding which route is best, I’ve learned a lot about how to make what I have work for who I am. To my young ladies in life, always start where you are and go to where you want to be one step at a time. Know your vision and trust where it will take you. Your time, commitment, and truth will show as you continue to nurture the vision that you have.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with iMiTs Art – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
There are many dynamics that define the journey I decided to embark upon. I am an artisan that creates art through paintings, landscapes, and 3D models.

I am a traveler that runs a nonprofit for artists. I go to different communities like Atlanta, GA, Florida, Oceanside, Ca, and Houston. In the communities I travel to, I connect with businesses and artists to provide community engagement for the locals. One of the things I assist artists through is iAm Garments. It is a clothing line that enables artists to create content to sale to the public. We allow the artist the opportunity and insight to create, sale and learn the administrative duties to run their own business first hand.

As a nonprofit organization, we are connected to HOH 77.7 radio station for our music heads, iDivine Consulting for the entrepreneurship workshops, iAm Mag which introduces our graphic designers to a new way of expressing the message of positive, informative messages. We operate in line with businesses and extensions of iMiTs Art to create the iAm Collective to connects the full circle of our company.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
If there was ever advice, mentorship is key if utilized the right way. Write out your plan and start interacting with people you see doing what your plans lead to. Speaking and interacting will be vital to getting to your there. Practice expressing your business and telling as many about what you do. It will help you gain insight about yourself and people along the journey will show you what positive elements to learn from along the way.
