Meet Dr. Chelsea Williams of Mind Body & Spine in Stafford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Chelsea Williams.

Dr. Chelsea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from the University of Houston in December 2014 with a degree in Exercise Science. After undergrad, I was not sure which career path I wanted. I was looking at master’s programs within the healthcare field and stumbled upon chiropractic. I set up a tour at Texas Chiropractic College, fell in love and applied for admission the same day. I graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in August 2018.

After graduation, I took a job as an associate chiropractor. During that time, I felt it just wasn’t the place for me. I definitely learned a lot and things I probably wouldn’t have if I would of opened on my own right out of school, but I’ve always had an end goal of opening my own practice.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Though I have been very fortunate it definitely has not been a smooth road. I started chiropractic school six months after my father passed away and during chiropractic school I had two more immediate family members pass away. Chiropractic school is very intense, and at times I would compared it to maintaining a house of cards, one wrong move and it can come crashing down. I feel challenges I’ve faced during that time has definitely made me a stronger person; no matter what you are going through you have to keep pushing, life is hard but you have to keep going.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mind Body & Spine story. Tell us more about the business.
I am the owner of Mind Body & Spine. We specialize in chiropractic, wellness care, and sport injuries… We just opened August 5th here is Stafford, so we are brand new. Before opening a location, I was working with a women’s football team as their team doctor. I am very excited to see the growth of Mind Body & Spine and see a vision that I’ve had for so long come to life. I love educating people and helping them take control of their own health and wellness.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve been lucky to always have support of family and friends in anything I’ve chosen to do. Which has given me the confidence to go after and believe in any goal I have set for myself.
