Today we’d like to introduce you to Fatima Morken.
Fatima, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I auditioned for AMTC (Actor’s, Models, and Talent for Christ) as a singer for former Sony Music A&R, Jaco Booyens. I, then, was noticed by talent scouts in the organization to be a great candidate for lifestyle modeling and acting. I trained with AMTC in the areas of music, film, fashion, and dance. I went on to perform in showcases at their International SHINE Convention before many VIPs in the entertainment industry in 2015.
Following the event, I qualified to take artist development classes with After Eden Management. This is how I became “The Accidental Songwriter”. Today, I continue songwriting and am anxious to finish recording my first album!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not a smooth road at all!
Recording music is my ultimate dream and I am still finding ways on how I can make that possible since it is very expensive on my budget. Other opportunities in the entertainment industry have presented themselves to help me build my platform as an artist and public figure; like modeling for two French clothing lines- La Cotonnière and Dakidaya, and appearing in TV shows and commercials here in American and Europe.
I have faced personal hardships, questioned my philosophy of life a lot and my faith has gone in all directions.
Nevertheless, I find my myself more and more each day!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My brand is one of positive vibes, enthusiasm, and truth. I write songs that are very personal messages of inspiration and hope. I believe in a better world, progression, and authenticity. My style is very indie or classical pop as I have an opera music background and voice. My unique vocal range, vibrato, and multilingual ability is what sets me apart.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is having the freedom to operate independently on my purpose of life. I am an artist and creator. As long as I am able to exercise that liberty, I am successful. I make that determination. I work for that right. I protect and nourish that treasure.
