Meet Faubricio Rivera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faubricio Rivera.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I discovered my passion for photography while in high school. It began as me taking candid photos of friends and family as a way to keep up with the memories since there was no Snapchat or Instagram at that time. My Senior Year I took a photography class that introduced me to the true art of photography and where I learned about my now favorite photographers; Annie Leibovitz and Peter Lindbergh. Unfortunately, after high school, I did not actively pursue photography for the first few years as I put all of my energy and passion into a relationship. Once that ended, however, I used photography as an outlet, and that has been my primary focus ever since.

Please tell us about your art.
My style of art is photography, and I create it by capturing photos. The reason I love this style of art is because I love the idea of capturing the moment in a still image. My inspiration comes from my love of fashion. The idea of being personable through what you wear and being able to make that you own thing as your unique trait. I love to photograph that because it’s never the same, it’s each person’s own idea. I enjoy photographing different people to see their take on what they believe looks good and what they believe is beautiful. I liiiiiive for the fashions. I feel that when it comes to fashion, there is no right or wrong, I see it as an art, and a way of expression and I love to capture it. I hope that people look at my photos and see the passion in the photo and the art behind the artist. For them to know that it is a goal of mine to always have a collaborative effort. I am always presenting ideas and reaching out to individuals who will help bring those visions to life. I am always willing to accept constructive criticism as far as what they are wanting to see in the photos. It’s not just me as the photographer, it’s a team effort and I am open to suggestions on how to get the best final product. on of my biggest goal/dream is to land a cover of a well known, or spread in a well-known fashion magazine. i.e., vogue, Gq, Vanity fair, harpers bazaar, etc. I would love the chance to work with different individuals like stylists designers make up artists creative directors and continue creating alongside them.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
I think success is a personal goal. What is successful for one person may not be considered “successful” to others. I think I am successful now and I will continue to be with every step forward that I make, like the feature in this article. The willingness to accept others critique. Having a thicker skin and recognizing what can help you be better in your craft.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can follow me on Instagram (@faubriicio) and check out my personal website People can support my work by spreading the word, sharing my images (with credit) and shooting with me! I love collaborating with new creative people.
