Meet Jennifer Winters of Fit4Lyfe in Southwest Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Winters.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
All started when I was very young watching my step father workout in the garage. I use to pick up the weights when he was not looking every chance I got. Later in grade school I learned that I liked winning in everything running, biking, jumping you name it I wanted to do it and I wanted to do it well. I found myself practicing for things when I realized I wasn’t too good at it I practice to get better and to be the best at it all. I am very competitive as you can see. I don’t believe in cant I believe I can only get better.

How did I become a trainer?
I have always been active, ladies would come to me and ask me questions about fitness. They always came back to me with positive feedback and figured I should put it to use.

How did I start competing?
One day a friend looking at a magazine asked me if I had competed that weekend, I said “no, why?” he showed me a picture of women that looked very much like myself. I was inspired and motivated from then on. A month and half later I was on stage competing in my first show. I placed 3rd and was in love from then on. 2 places from 1st place I can do it. The rest is history.

I’m now a full time fitness professional and loving what I do. I try my best to be an example of what I suggest: Fit4Lyfe

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The struggle is real but it’s just like any other job there is going to be some bumps along the way. Being a women in a completive male dominated industries, thinking they can do a better job.
