Meet Tamala Austin of JIVE Juice Company in Northwest side

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamala Austin.

An early holiday gift for Houston residents focused on health and wellness, J.I.V.E. Juice is now available at Whole Foods 365. J.I.V.E Juice (Juicing Is Very Essential) is the first juice company owned by an African American to be placed in Whole Foods.

Founded by Tamala Austin, author of “Love My Body Again: 21-Day Meditation to Create Your Best Body Now” and a certified health coach, J.I.V.E. Juice provides fresh cold-pressed fruit/vegetable juices and smoothies to support a healthy lifestyle. Austin turned to juicing, nutrition, meditation, and exercise following a diagnosis of high blood pressure, eventually launching a growing juice delivery service throughout the Houston metro.

“I truly believe that your health is your wealth, so we are thrilled to bring our healthy products to the many Whole Foods fans in Houston,” Austin said. “I am also honored to be the first African-American owner of a juice company represented at Whole Foods and appreciate their interest in healthy products and delicious juice and smoothies.”

Currently, J.I.V.E Juice is available at the 101 North Loop West Whole Foods location in Houston in the historic Independence Heights Community. Customers can enjoy top sellers such as Green Delight, Morning Glory, Energy Blast, Apple Berry Fiber, and Sweet Beats. With vegetarian and vegan options, the goal is to help people “learn how to transition to and maintain a healthy lifestyle that is both pleasurable and sustainable.”

Whole Foods quality standards for new products including great-tasting food that is fresh, wholesome and safe to eat as well as free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hydrogenated fats. The company seeks out and promotes organically grown foods as well as products that support health and well-being.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. One of the many challenges has been resources, however, thus far I have managed to use my personal resources to fund my business.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with JIVE Juice Company – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is a natural cold press beverage company that specializes in making juices to help improve the overall health of our customers. Our juices inspire our customers to be healthy and sexy.

I am most proud that I have been a product of my products. Juicing has helped me to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. The four pillars of my company are Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, and Nutrition.

What sets up apart from other companies, is that we don’t just make juices. Our juices are made with our customer’s health in mind; our juices are designed to aid the overall health of our customers. Our motto is, “Your Health Is our Business.”

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
More and more people are becoming more health conscious. The awareness is increasing tremendously. We need to have more community involvement and educate the people more.
