Meet Michael Shine of Frank’s Americana Revival in River Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Shine.

Michael, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a 40 year restaurant veteran and industry consultant, who has been a part of hundreds of restaurant openings and concepts; I felt strongly that along with my oldest son and youngest son, we either open or purchase a restaurant in the Houston area.

With that, I purchased Franks Chop House in early 2012. Relaunching the brand as Frank’s Americana Revival, my sons and I have been able to create one of Houston’s most popular restaurants. With success continuing and noted sales growth each and every year, we have begun construction to add more space to our restaurant to include private dining rooms, private wine rooms and additional kitchen.

Our plans include expanding the brand Frank’s Americana Revival along with other concept launches over the next 10 years.

Has it been a smooth road?
Generally yes, but with any business, staff and service driven, there are always challenges. However, ours have been minimal and our success far outweighs the challenges.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Frank’s Americana Revival – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Actually I have two companies. Texas Food Group LLC and Limerick Restaurant Partners ltd. At Texas Food Group we specialize in Restaurant Growth strategies, concept reorganization and management team advisory services.

Limerick Restaurant Partners Ltd, is the entity that owns Frank’s Americana Revival Restaurant and will in the future consist of multiple restaurant locations and concepts. Our specialty in both companies is effectively bringing value to our customers. Clients with Texas Food Group and of course restaurant guests at Limerick/ Frank’s.

We are uniquely suited to provide guidance and sound strategies to our clients with respect to growing their brands or restaurants. Our industry knowledge and experience is unmatched in this part of the country.

With our restaurants, our unique ability to identify with each guest in establishing a bond while providing them recognized service and outstanding food day in and day out has produced a significant level of repeat business with our customers and has created a warm and recognized “neighborhood” restaurant.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I enjoy the diversity of Houston, the multiple business market centers, bedroom communities and such. We enjoy a strong financial business climate and one which encourages repeat growth and success.

I least enjoy the growth problems we have such as burdening traffic, increasing crime and lack of zoning benefits which although promote business success and flexibility, the lack of such can cause difficulty with neighborhood planning and retail.
