Today we’d like to introduce you to Moises Sirias.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Moises. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I guess you can say I was always into photography, I just didn’t know it. Whatever book I was reading, whatever article, I always found myself flipping thru to locate any photos to look at. Late in to High school I Got into the car scene with a group of friends. I want to take photos of our cars and the meet ups whenever we went out so I bought a point and shoot and sorta just pushed the button to take a photo. I started to do research and got sucked into what could be captured. I found a better camera to experiment with, Youtubed all day all night, bought a book on the basics of photography and just practiced editing. Soon enough I was shooting photos of just about anything. Today I focus on model, street and landscape photography, but mainly landscape. I love the adventure and being on the road. I’ve taken plenty of spontaneous trips at 9 pm because why not. I’ve driven thousands of miles across different states and even slept in my car to get early morning photos far from home.
Has it been a smooth road?
Sometimes I get creative block for long periods of time. Honestly when that happens I just start binge watching tutorials and I’ll learn something that I want to try.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m a freelance Photographer in Houston, I shoot a good range of genres from model photography to landscape. My main focus is Landscape photography. I’m most proud of doing whatever it takes to get the shot. Some people are not willing to exhaust themselves, fight the heat or even freezing temperatures to capture an amazing photo.
With the internet and social media not as many people print their work. I took it upon myself to head the other direction. I love social media because you easily can find inspiration but as soon as you scroll past a photo, you never look back at that photo you “liked.” It takes a lot to capture photos. I want people to cherish a print and hang it somewhere to be viewed over and over again.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I love Houston, I think it’s an amazing city to start your own business. Especially in the art area. This city has shown so much love to artist in recent years, its amazing seeing it happen in front of me. The community as well is amazing.
