Meet Scott Stephens of Texas Truckworks in Magnolia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Stephens.

Has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a long interesting road with lots of changes and challenges. Industry has changed very much since my start in 1977. Expectations have changed so much back in the early days most of the customer built their vehicles for off roading adventures, and on road driving was not so important. Todays’ customers want a trail capable vehicle that will do the trails in Colorado and still have great street driving characteristics. In the early days, customers were mainly young guys, but today’s customers range from male to female from sixteen to seventy years plus of age.

Heck in the mid-seventies you could purchase a new truck for four thousand dollars, today a new truck is in the seventy thousand plus cost range.

One of today’s biggest challenges is the internet! People get on a site and overnight they become truck or Jeep master builders and know it all. Which is usually far from the truth. Sometimes the internet is great but many times it creates a monster.

The truck aftermarket world is very challenging as far as you put tires and wheels on a person’s truck and the next week they think they are experts and open up a truck aftermarket store.

All in all it has been an exciting lifestyle that is what I have been doing for some forty years.

Texas Truckworks – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Texas Truckworks is really about people from the employees that are the heart of Texas Truckworks to the great customers that have been coming to TTW for many years.

What we do at Texas Truckworks is build awesome vehicles with Truck and Jeep Attitude.

We build vehicles that truly reflect the personality of the owner of the vehicle. The goal is at Texas Truckworks to build an awesome Real World vehicle that will not only reflect the customers personality but have high expectations as far as drivability and being a safe vehicle for everyone.

At Texas Truckworks we specialize in Real World builds, Criteria is must be safe, drive great and create many positive impressions.

What were most proud of at Texas Truckworks is when you come to our business we love the customers input but if they want to build a vehicle that’s not up to the TTW standards, we will tell them how to achieve their goals and create an awesome build with component’s that will make the project much more driver friendly and they will have many years of enjoyment in their Jeep or Truck.

What I think sets TTW apart is each and every day we want to make a difference!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally I have several definitions of success and they both have to do with seeing customers come back sometimes many years after we built them a vehicle and they say I’m so glad we built our vehicle the way you wanted to. The buddy that told me to use what he thought was good parts got rid of the parts and has what you suggested for our vehicle on his vehicle now. At Texas Truckworks we build REAL WORLD VEHICLES!

Secondly, it is for sure seeing how many boys and girls alike that are living with life challenges just get an extra bit of energy, (big smiles) from seeing trucks, Jeeps with big tires and Monster Trucks just touch their lives in such a positive manner.

The marker or goal that I have every day is do good stuff!
