Meet Stephanie Ton of Peachy Events in Galleria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Ton.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be in the hospitality industry, but I didn’t know what aspect of hospitality. I went into the University of Houston’s Hotel and Restaurant Management program thinking I was going to own a beautiful beach resort one day, but by the time my senior year came around, I found out that’s not what I wanted to do exactly anymore. Throughout college and post-graduation, I bounced around the hospitality industry working in hotels, restaurants, banquets, etc., before falling into the wedding world. Once I worked on my first wedding, my search was over. I fell in love and found my passion.

I worked under several different wedding planning companies before launching my own, Peachy Events, in 2017. Since each firm I worked for had their own niche, I was able to learn a multitude of knowledge from all of them. I learned what worked for some, what didn’t work for others, all before formulating what would be successful for my brand, staff, and clients. I genuinely love weddings and seeing my couples in love. It’s all very cheesy, but I can’t imagine doing anything else at the moment.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not! Especially with COVID-19, 40% of my events for the year have been postponed so far and there’s still an unpredictable timeline to associate with the virus. Everyone has their external struggles though, especially in this industry and all of the personalities that come with it, but I find my biggest obstacle is internal. As a business owner, you’re in a constant battle with yourself, trying to stay motivated and innovative, staying true to yourself, your brand, all the things people don’t see behind closed doors. This is where I find constant personal development extremely important because being an entrepreneur and leader is a mindset.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Peachy Events – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Peachy Events is a wedding and event planning company. For our clients, we make one of their most memorable days seamless, enjoyable, and stress-free. We try to get to know our clients as much as we can throughout the planning process so we can insert personable aspects of them into their day to make it unique and special. One of the things we hear most from our previous clients that they appreciate is our calm nature and being able to do anything with a smile on.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about our city is the sense of community. I have lived in many cities growing up due to being a military child and Houston is unmatched. No matter what we’re going through, we pull together and it makes me proud to represent Houston. Also, the restaurant scene. We can never run out of good food!

What I like least about our city is traffic! I avoid going anywhere during rush hour if I can.
