Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Foreman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kiera. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was growing up, I was raised and surrounded family members who suffered from chronic diseases and were fatally ill. From kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, I witnessed how much my family suffered from all the hospital visits and medications. I made the decision that it would stop with me. When I went to college, I studied Health Science and learned the impact that diet has on your health and I started making lifestyle changes. I didn’t have health insurance in college, so whenever I would get sick, I would research natural remedies to heal myself. After seeing that I could heal myself with what nature provides my passion for holistic wellness was ignited.
By the time I was 26, most of my maternal family (including my mother) had passed away. I was deeply depressed but I really wanted to break the generational curses and live a thriving life. Over the next few years, I began a serious yoga/meditation practice, became a vegan, and eventually a registered yoga teacher. Now I am on a path of self love and healing. I am rewriting my story and living my best life. I desire to hold space for others to do the same.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road was definitely rough for me. I felt so lost when I lost my mom seven years ago. I made a lot of mistakes and bad decisions along the way. However, these experiences taught me great lessons. I learned that I don’t have to struggle alone and that I have the power to change my circumstances. Your mindset on how you view yourself and the world around you plays a major role in how you experience your life. Once I was able to shift my paradigm, I was able to visualize how I want to show up in the world. My advice to young girls starting their journey would be to trust and accept all pieces of who you are. Self-acceptance breeds self-worth and self-confidence. Allow yourself to step into who you are called to be. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help. From that place, you can manifest the life you desire.
