Meet Trailblazer Sadé Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sadé Hill.

Sadé, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have had a love for fashion and style for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, my mother and I would shop until the stores closed. I had been wanting to start a fashion blog for quite some time. I am a registered nurse by day and I enjoy what I do but I needed something more, something to ignite my creative side.

I kept procrastinating and putting off starting the blog. I definitely had a bit of self-doubt initially. One day, I was talking to my close friend, who always motivates me and gives me that extra push I need at times. I shared my ideas with her and she says “Sade, just do it! What are you waiting for?!” So, I did! I began researching, talking to other bloggers, and creating my website.

I decided to launch in October, which is my birthday month. I was turning 30 and was excited to see what the year would bring. I wanted to walk into this new chapter of my life, fearless, unstoppable, confident and of course in style! So, it was only right to move forward with the launch.

I was in Thailand celebrating my birthday and working on the finishing touches to my very first blog post! I was so nervous to hit the publish button, but when I did it was such an amazing feeling. My friends and family were so supportive and still are which has meant so much to me and keeps me pushing forward.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey has had its hills and valleys. Blogging is not my only job so, at times, I face challenges with spreading out my time. Blogging and creating content can take a great deal of time. The photoshoots, mapping out and creating content, narrating the content for publishing; it is not as easy as it looks. My advice would be to use tools to help you work smarter and not harder. I use the Plann app. You can organize your social media feed and schedule your posts. For blogging on your website, I suggest setting a goal for how many posts per week or month you want to publish. In one setting, create those posts and have them compiled for the entire week or month vs creating them as you go. Lastly, have fun and enjoying sparking your creativity.

We’d love to hear more about IAMPLUSH.
I am a travel nurse. I have been a nurse for seven years now. I enjoy caring for others, especially in a need or illness. Whether it’s big or small, it makes me feel good to know that I have made a positive impact on someone’s life.

My brand is all about being comfortable in your own skin and embracing who you are and not being afraid to express that. Personal style does just that! You express who you are in what you wear. I feel that some people need that extra push or inspiration to feel good and confident, not only on the inside but on the outside as well.

I’ve always enjoyed helping my friends and family with finding looks for special occasions or a simple wardrobe makeover. Sometimes through doing so, it helps others to see their inner beauty. Blogging is my way to share and inspire the world to be comfortable and confident in the skin they’re in.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking is a major part of my process and has impacted me and my brand in more ways than I could ever dream. I have met so many like-minded individuals who motivate and inspire me! Networking is making me more confident because it forces me to step outside of my comfort zone and speak out about my brand and what I have to offer. I can not stress enough the importance of connecting with others and showing up to support them, whether it’s being present at an event or engaging on social media. Supporting and collaborating with one another is how you reach and inspire more people.
