Meet Tynece Thompson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tynece Thompson.

Hi Tynece, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For me, it started in New York, where I am originally from. After undergrad, I decided to move to Los Angeles, where I didn’t know anyone. I wanted to do this to figure out who I was as a person without the opinions of others and to take myself out of my comfort zone. LA is where I figured out who I was and what I wanted for myself, but I also knew that living in Los Angeles was not it for me, and that’s when Houston became my home. In Houston, I enhanced my career as an accountant, launched my blog, and shared my story to help other women prioritize self-love and care and learn about themselves the same way I did. My journey on finding myself inspired me to want to inspire other women through my blog and Instagram.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is not a smooth road. There will always be trials and tribulations, but the important thing is how you deal with those things. How can you turn your lessons into blessings? Taking myself out of my comfort zone to understand myself was NOT easy AT ALL, but I needed it to move forward in my life with a clear mind and become the person I always wanted to be. I kept reminding myself that when bad things happen to you, don’t close the book. Instead, turn the page and move on. One day, your story will help someone get through life.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for being myself! But, I am most proud of creating my blog and building my platform to share my life experiences with other women who can relate to my journey while managing my 9-5 in accounting.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t use the word luck that much. I see things as either it was not meant for me, or it was. Even with that, some things may not work out for you at that moment, but they may work for you later in life. For example, I actually had started a blog back when I was living in LA, but for some reason, I didn’t feel like it was time for me to continue my blogging journey. I realized after a while that the reason I was in LA was for the sole purpose of understanding who I was and what I wanted in life. Once I started to understand, I decided to change my surroundings and chose Houston as my home. I am happy to say Houston was the place where life just made so much sense to me. It was finally time to share my experiences and lift other women up by using my blog and social media. Every time I receive a message from a woman who said I’m the reason they took a leap of faith with something, it makes me happy because this is what I’ve always wanted to do. So, no luck. Just the right timing.
