Meet Samuel W. Ouedraogo of Farafina Fitness in Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel W. Ouedraogo.

Samuel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?

I was born in the West African nation of Burkina Faso, but after living in 11 countries across 4 continents over the past 15 years, I’ve grown into a true global citizen. My journey has been shaped by both academics and athletics. I am a Louisiana State University graduate with a background as a basketball athlete and ties to the NCAA, NAIA, NBA, FIBA, and the BIG3.

Fitness has always been more than training for me , it’s been a source of identity, discipline, and resilience. My desire to help others unlock those same benefits is what led to the creation of FARAFINA FITNESS. The concept was born during my college years and fully came to life after graduation.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Farafina Fitness – what should we know?
Farafina Fitness is dedicated to transforming lives through personal training, group training, sports nutrition, strength, and conditioning. We serve individuals at every stage of their fitness journey from beginners discovering their capabilities to advanced athletes looking to elevate their performance.

In addition to our core fitness programs, we also run basketball camps designed to build skill, confidence, and holistic athletic development for youth and adults.

Our philosophy is simple and powerful: “As long as you own a physical body, you are an athlete. And we are here to help you enhance your performance in this game of life.”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Every entrepreneurial journey comes with challenges, and ours has been no different. Farafina Fitness was built from the ground up with no external funding, just a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to serving others through fitness. Those challenges have strengthened us, shaping a solid foundation as we continue progressing toward our vision of becoming a global franchise.
