Check out MJ Vanicek’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to MJ Vanicek.

MJ, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I never intended to be a photographer. I went to Texas A&M University and wanted to be a Pediatrician. After marrying my husband, who was a helicopter pilot in the United States Army, I quickly realized that I had to make a choice. Move with him or stay behind for more schooling. I decided to go. After having my first daughter, Emma Lyn, I started picking up my camera, and I learned how to document her. I soon fell in love with capturing babies and children. They truly grow so fast, and I want every family to remember their little ones as they were. The saying is true, “love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do? Why? And what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a maternity, newborn, and family portrait photographer. I have an in-home studio where I capture newborn portraits, and for all other sessions, I use various outdoor locations. I live off of the quote “I’ve always believed in savoring the moments. in the end, they are the only things we’ll have.” – Anna Godbersen. I hope and strive to capture every personality genuinely. It is a privilege to be chosen to capture someone’s memories because they will look at these portraits for the rest of their lives.

MJ’s Photography is a boutique photography studio. I customize everything I do with each client in mind. I consult with each client to get to know them, show what I can offer, as well as understand what they are in search of. This is how I create a custom experience. I have several different options to create the perfect art for each family, ranging anywhere from wall art to heirloom albums to handcrafted folio boxes. My clients leave with an exquisite product from my diverse product line. Every boutique product is imported from various European locations and are of the utmost quality.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I do think the role of artists have changed. This world is a digital world. I embrace the physical side of photography. From wall art to custom heirloom albums, I want my clients to enjoy touching and seeing their portraits. What happens when your computer crashes and all of your digital images are gone?

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My art can be seen at www.mjthephotog.com.

Your love for babies speaks loudly in each photo you take. They belong in art galleries worldwide. As a great grandmother memories of my children and grandchildren have faded. Your photos will not fade.
