Meet Aphasia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aphasia.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Music has always been my foundation. I grew up in the church, singing in the choir, leading solos. There was also school choir, and I was a cheerleader from the age of two. They had me singing the national anthem at all of the football games, I’ve never been shy because shyness was never an option for me.

Please tell us about your art.
I do a lot; there’s no limit on the art that flows out of me, creating is the way I get through life; it’s the way I breathe. I write poetry, and my poetry turns into music, and my music is my story, my emotions, my heart, and my soul in physical form.

I write to express myself; I sing so I can be heard and felt. This is the best way to communicate how I feel within; my life is an ocean filled with different waves of every deep experience that has left its mark on me.
I hope people find as much healing in my music as I do from creating it.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I think artists have a platform and it should be used to spread truth, and advocate the importance of peace & love. I will always believe in this.
There has always been so much chaos going on; I think it’s crucial that we all find our inner peace and hold on to it.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I have a few songs on my SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/aphasiasings/lover-do-u-love.

And I share my thoughts on my twitter (@aphasialyn) sometimes.
