Art & Life with Imani Talib

Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Talib.

Imani, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’m from Houston, but my desire to create led me to Los Angeles, CA where I attended school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. I thought I wanted to be a buyer and knew I was destined to be an entrepreneur, but my time in LA molded me into the creative, strategic experiential individual I am today. I realized I not only wanted to work with fashion designers and other creatives, but I wanted to help them draw people into their unique story by way of visual immersive projects.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a creative brand strategist. I focus on experiential marketing and integrated PR. My brush is the creative. My medium is their talent, and my canvas is the platform designated for the brand message. I enjoy collaborating with creatives and brands to develop and bring concepts to life in a unique, engaging way. My goal is to inspire people to continue creating and innovating. My passion is also to share the work of those innovating and creating with the audience who will relate most.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what quality do you feel is most helpful?
I define success as consistently being able to overcome the trials thrown at you while pursuing a passion, purpose, or goal. To succeed you need discipline, persistence, and faith in Jesus Christ. All are necessary, but the last is the one I highly suggest because if you only believe in your will and strength alone you will disappoint yourself every time and this could lead to self-doubt which will stifle your progress. To achieve any goal, especially professionally, there will be days when you have to push past how you feel and also what the situation looks like. This is done with faith.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can view my work on Instagram @InMuse_ on my website InspirationsMuse.com and currently in the windows of Carrie Ann boutique in Uptown Park where I develop and install her seasonal window visuals. I also have an active concept called ThA FUel EfFecT; it is a quarterly newsletter developed for creatives and connoisseurs of the arts. The goal is to inspire, cultivate and connect creatives by fueling the mind with creative visuals and sharing relevant information digitally. To subscribe to it locate and click the cube on my website or email info@inspirationsmuse.com.
