Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Kent.
LaToya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for hair extensions since I was five. This wasn’t something that was forced upon me as a kid. It just came naturally like it was apart of me. My mother was a housekeeper and one of her jobs was cleaning a salon. Unlike my siblings, I enjoyed going to the salon helping her clean. The smell of the salon always did something to me. Plus, I was able to play in hair products and use their hot tools when she wasn’t looking. I grew up styling friends and family hair for fun until I got paid for my first styling… that’s when things changed for me. I quickly realized I could double my profit if I sold extensions too. That’s when Lush XXI Premium Extensions was created. The money I made from my hair company and styling hair got me my first salon (notice I said first because I plan on owning multiples). Business increased drastically for both of my businesses in three years. Many people asked how I did two successful businesses in three years. Those questions led me to believe that I can teach others how to achieve that level of success if they’re willing to listen. 100k next year today hair business seminar became my first opportunity to educate others about the hair industry which sold out twice in Houston. That opportunity elevated my brand to start doing hair wholesale. I am currently diving into the wholesale industry which I find so fulfilling to help individuals start and grow their hair companies. To know me is to know that love is in the hair for me and I’m living my purpose even if it’s one strand at a time.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The only struggle I had, in the beginning, was lack of experience and knowledge. I had talent but lacked knowledge on what I was selling and how to sell it.

We are proud of our ability to provide you quality hair from the top hair selling origins. What puts us at an advantage is that we are always coming first with something new and good.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I will have to say my seminar. I’ve accomplished many things in my life so far, but my seminar made me feel truly successful because I’ve always measured success by what I can do for others versus what I can do for myself.
