Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Garza.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve always had an interest in taking photos; I had a simple point and shoot film cameras as a kid, and when I got older I spent all my money on a little digital point and shoot Lumix. Not until I was an adult and traveling the world and seeing the most beautiful sights in my life did I realize that my love of photos could bring these places to life for people who can’t see it themselves. I strive to bring the vivid colors, the personalities, and the experience to the photo to represent that little moment in time for everyone to enjoy.
Please tell us about your art.
When I’m not traveling and capturing moments around the world (which is most of the time) I enjoy taking photos and making videos of local people that I think are moving up in their life, these are everyday people in Houston that I have met who are working hard to make their dreams come true. I honestly believe that being satisfied and happy with your work will bring you peace in your life, and what a better way to get to that point than by working hard and making it yourself! This embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Houston and the limitless opportunity in this amazing city, and we need to spread that excitement and get people moving!
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Networking is ridiculously important! Meet people with similar mindsets and skills, collaborate with them! Get creative together and make a plan!
