Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Mitchell.
Chris, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began my journey in 2011 by performing with my guitarist, Tolga Guner, on a sidewalk in front of Turquoise Restaurant in Sugar Land, TX. We performed 8-10 hours per day for tips. We recorded requested songs from guests and named the album after the restaurant we performed in front of. The album gained much notoriety online and soon, we began touring the country then the world.
Has it been a smooth road?
My largest struggle was the stealing of my car which was holding my saxophones. It was my only transportation to the sidewalk to perform. Therefore, I hitched rides from friends or walked to the shows.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a saxophonist and entrepreneur. I am known for the incredible experiences that my fans share in my concerts. I am highly proud to say that I am currently on my first World Tour invested by myself; no investors, just me. What sets me apart from others is that there is only one Chris Mitchell that does what I am doing and how I am doing it.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In 5-10 years, I simply want to continue enjoying sharing my gift to the world. I love the way it feels when my fans are having such a delightful experience. More people will continue to find me or I’ll find them and we’ll become each other’s fan.
