Meet Roy and Tracie Webb of Webb’s Automotive of Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roy & Tracie Webb.

Roy, Tracie – please share your story with us.
Both of our parents were self-employed. Tracie’s parent’s owned an automotive shop where she and Roy both worked. Roy’s parent’s owned an office furniture store. We both grew up with parents that were business owners. In 1995 Roy opened his own shop in Northwest Houston, then, in 2011 we opened the Cypress location, Close to where we live and kids go to school, church etc.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not always. Hiring good employees is key. We want them to have the same values of honesty, quality workmanship and integrity. Actually, we have been lucky most of our employees have stayed the same. They love having the weekends off to spend with family and friends. Growing pains are always hard. We were well known at our Northwest Houston location, when we opened Cypress location we had a lot of friends in the area but becoming established in a new area takes a while for people to learn about you, your business practices and policies. Word of mouth advertising is always the best kind. When you are honest the word spreads and people tell their neighbors and write good reviews etc.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Webb’s Automotive of Cypress – what should we know?
We provide complete automotive repairs and service. We do state inspections, oil changes, tune ups, brakes, air conditioning, alignments, front end work, electrical, etc. About the only thing we don’t do is transmission work but we refer our customers to a great company business we have been doing business with a long time.

We specialize in HONESTY, and quality repairs. We never try to sale customers things they don’t need. Customers appreciate our honesty. We are proud of being family owned and operated for over 20 years. Our nephew Cody Scott works for us and has since we opened the Cypress location. He is an integral part of our company. We also hire people that live in the Cypress area. We also love to support the local schools and non-profit organizations. We won the Lone Star College small business of the year in 2015!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Honesty, hard work, integrity, quality repairs. Although we are a company and need to make a profit our goal is to have happy customers and to do a great job. We would like to have customers for life, not just make a huge profit on one job.
