Meet Sandi Flores and Jonna Lee of The Rustic Brush in Memorial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandi Flores and Jonna Lee.

Sandi – please kick things off for us. Where does this story begin?
Jonna Lee attended a similar workshop for her bridal shower. She fell in love with the idea and since there was nothing like that in the Houston area she approached myself (Sandi) her step mom and her father and we decided to open up a business and The Rustic Brush was born! We opened our first location in Houston on memorial Drive and it’s been so successful that we are expanding and have opened a location in Kingwood. We have two more locations in the works for Katy and Pearland. We are Houston’s Premier social crafting experience!

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part it’s been a very smooth road. Being a family owned business we have had to learn to work together and separate business from family affairs and we have done pretty well so far 🙂

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a DIY workshop where you can come and socialize with family and friends while making a beautiful pallet picture made out of wood. The process includes using a hammer and nailing your boards together. Then we have power sanders to sand the edges. Then you stain the pallet and then apply the stencil and paint it! Guys and girls love this place! We are most proud as a company to see the expressions on people’s faces when they create something they’d be proud to hang on their walls at home or the office. What sets us apart from others would be our flexibility when it comes to customs as well as our pricing.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is a great place to start a business! There is such a variety of people and cultures here is this city.

Pricing:

  • $38 small pallet
  • $48 medium pallet
  • $58 large pallet

My name is Kathy Kelsoe. I really love the work displayed in your Kingwood shop. Several weeks ago, I brought an oval piece of wood to have a custom design for a school clinic in Humble. I wanted the lettering to say, School Nurse Moto:
Saving Lives 1 Band-aid at a time. The colors will be white washed base and purple letter with a mixture of cursive and block letters. My phone number is 832-752-2468.
