Anna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Zesty Lifestyle started as Zesty Interiors in Calgary, Canada. I had three kids back to back and Decided running a home business was ideal to balance being a mum and an entrepreneur. I offered interior decorating and personal styling services and the best part as an entrepreneur is that I could manage my time around my kids early years schedule. It was a tough journey for marketing clients and building my client base but found business network engagements and project references from clients helped my success.
I think getting where I am today is due to the passion, determination, & sacrifices I put into the business and not giving up on the challenges that came my way but finding the right business solutions.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Was sure not a smooth road running a business especially if you are a mum. My struggle was balancing home needs & meeting my business demand schedule. I decided to only work three times a week offering my full-time services & other days dedicated to family needs.
My advice first is to run a business you are passionate about and start by networking in your area & joining organizations in your area of business interest.
Luckily, running a business today is so much easier with free social media as a good resource tool to showcase your business and also a website for information on what you do and who you are also very key.
Lastly, don’t give up as an initial stage of starting up will be slow & frustrating but it gets better with all the tools in place.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Certainly, there are challenges facing women in our societies but the greatest opportunity we have is the strong will power of being a woman.
Women are also so hardworking and good multitaskers than men.
The secret to success is not holding on to challenges but staying confident in achieving those goals & self-journey.
