Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashton Green.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Started in high school writing parodies to popular songs, later choosing to switch the jokes and comedy lines for actual punchlines and lyrics that my idols would appreciate. After meeting my partner in hip hop crime, Michael “Ralphunnoticed” Edison, and dropping out of college, I would release a series of mixtapes containing remixes to popular rap and pop songs titled “Lost in Translation.”
Soon I’d go one to release several singles, all covering different topics, covering things like being a member of working-class America, depression, suicidal thoughts or self harm, and even being a fictional murderer that would fit perfectly in Eminem’s discography.
Has it been a smooth road?
No. Financial obligations in the household contributed to be dropping out of college, situational depression and anxiety made it hard to be comfortable In my own skin at times.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with BlackZuko – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
BlackZuko is the name u came up with after being after being casted as Danny Zuko in my high school’s performance of Grease. I didn’t know a thing about color-blind casting, so I was shocked when I was chosen over my white counterparts. So while thinking of a name more original than “Mr. Green”, BlackZuko stuck in my mind
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
I like that we’re small enough that people underestimate our ability to thrive in different fields of entertainment, but we’re big enough that we don’t stay underestimated for long.
