Meet Mike Gueary of Mike G Fitness in River Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Gueary.

Mike, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a graduate of McMurry University in Abilene,Texas.  I earned a Bachelors in Exercise Science & Human Performance with a concentration in personal & community fitness. I have been a personal trainer for nearly a decade and throughout my career, I’ve worked with both NFL and NBA teams. I’ve had the unique opportunity to train top athletes and executives from around the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
Getting to where I am has not been easy. I faced a lot of rejection early in my career. In this industry, it’s all about networking, client referrals, and client retention.

Every opportunity I was awarded came from networking. It was a slow start coming out of college, but once I was able to get a foot in the door, I took advantage of every opportunity given to me.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Mike G Fitness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
As a Houston based fitness professional, I’m most proud of being a pillar in the success of lives of individuals when it comes to health and wellness. I chose to become a fitness trainer because I simply love helping people reach their full potential. I’m highly motivated when client sets a fitness goal and trusts me to help get them there. I love to interact with different kinds of people. Ultimately, I genuinely like to see people win in life. I offer a variety of training options including One one, performance training, couples training as well as nutrition coaching.

I’m most proud of the fact that I get to create a detailed oriented program that caters to the clients needs every single day. I find it most rewarding, knowing that I am a positive impact in the lives of others. I think one of the things that set me apart is my creativity and attention to detail when it comes to programming for my clients. As I mentioned before, I’ve had the unique opportunity to have trained many people from different walks of life. That has given me a wide breadth of experience.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like that fact that Houston is a melting pot of many different people and backgrounds. I also like that Houston is a very active city and people enjoy getting out and exercising.

One thing that’s challenging about living in Houston is the sometimes unpredictable weather!

My rate for a single hour long session is $130, 12 sessions is $1,440, 24 sessions is $2,760 and 48 sessions is $5,280.
