Phillip has been in the construction industry for over 35 years. What a ride it has been for this young man from Corpus Christi, who now runs the top elevation company in Texas. As a young builder and designer, he worked day and many sleepless nights perfecting his craft. His goal was simple, to deliver only the best finished product to his customers. By applying these hard-working traits that he learned through schooling and firsthand experience, he has set himself apart from his competitors.

Arkitektura was established by shortly after the completion of his architecture internship in 1995 right here in the great state of Texas. The company started out as an architecture firm designing upscale residential homes with the concept of providing clients with a specialized and unique answer to their dream and vision. From design and construction, the company progressed into the structural home elevation industry. By applying the same experience and reputation that led to the company’s success in the home building and design industry the company delivers a higher standard of turn-key structural elevation combined with an educated approach. Our superior level of craft in construction has raised the bar on what a home elevation should and can be.
We have built a reputation for our attention to detail and to deliver an unmatched product in the turn-key elevation/construction industry. After years of designing and building over 600 homes, Phillip Contreras saw a way to use his skill and experience to utilize that concept in the structural elevation industry. With the best lifting team in the nation, Arkitektura has distinguished itself as a prominent elevation firm. Coupled with dexterity in architectural design, new construction and historic preservation, the company brings three master sets of skills to each project that has sets us apart from our competitors.
Over a 20-year history, the company has transitioned from high-end residential design and construction into comprehensive building elevation services for the implementation of SRL projects for local, state, historic, FEMA and TWDB grants. To date, the company has successfully elevated over 100 homes in the state of Texas and Florida. Arkitektura is the leading elevation contractor for the Galveston County FEMA SRL Grant Elevation Program, elevating more homes than any other company in the grant. We were the only remaining company in the Galveston Program from the initial pool of contractors. We were the only elevation contractor to complete the entire League City Elevation Grant for the State of Texas. Arkitektura Development Inc has also been the leading elevation contractor for the City of Nassau Bay, Escambia and Guadalupe County Elevation Grants. Additionally, our company has been chosen to participate in the elevation of the historic structures in State of Texas. As an organization, we have perfected a process of structural elevation and management, which has earned our company the acceptance and gratitude from the grant managers, homeowners and each community we have had the pleasure of working with.
Based on our experience and success, Arkitektura was the top selection for the structural elevation contractors in the upcoming FMA Houston Grant Program.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to success is never an easy one. there are always hurdles and obstacles to overcome. Arkitektura Development Inc takes pride in the fact that we have been able to adapt and excel at every turn.
The only real hurdle that we have faced is the ever-changing city and state permitting and engineering regulations that change continuously. Each and every elevation is different and comes with its own challenges.
But we welcome the variety of projects.

Arkitektura Development, Inc, is a professional residential and commercial structural elevation services company. We have provided comprehensive building elevation services (100+) for the implementation of SRL Grant Programs in Galveston, League City, Nassau Bay, Guadalupe County, Harris County, Meyer land, Texas and Escambia County, Florida. We specialize in turnkey elevation services. Our company also designs and builds residential structures throughout the State of Texas. Arkitektura is known for its professionalism and commitment to quality. Arkitektura is most proud of being able to help people in need with a unique solution to their problems and the relationships we are able to make and maintain with homeowners, city officials, and government officials throughout the entire project. We have elevated the largest residential structure in the Meyer land area, a two-story, 6,000 square foot brick residence.
