Meet Hannah Revelle and Maddy Morris of Momentum Indoor Climbing in Silver Street Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Revelle and Maddy Morris .

Hannah and Maddy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Maddy – I had my birthday party at a climbing gym when I was ten years old, and I met some younger climbers that told me I should try out the youth climbing team! I joined a few months later, and I have been attached ever since. I still compete in climbing competitions at least once a month. My most memorable achievement was when I won Collegiate Bouldering Nationals last year and got an invite to compete at the World Collegiate Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Hannah – My Uncle was a climber, and when he visited, he would take me to the local climbing gym. Throughout the years, I would visit the climbing gym a few times for some thrill and fun. When I went to college, the gym had a wall and are started climbing to workout. In the summers, I would work at the same gym I started to get a free membership to continue climbing. In the past two years, I started taking my climbing outside like Yosemite, Hueco, and Estes Park. I use climbing to see the world and be apart of an amazing community.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Maddy – Lots of tears, blood, and flappers… Climbing is a huge obstacle in itself. It is really tough to not let your emotions get involved. Sometimes it can be frustrating to fail over and over. It is a huge mental game. I have fortunately never had any serious injuries thus far, but minor problems with wrists, and knees and shoulders. There are routes that I try that I will probably never get which can get to my head. Lots of tears… Definitely not a smooth road.

Hannah – One of my biggest struggles with climbing is any time I stop for a long period of time I would have to start over from square one. The best way to become a strong climber is to climb constantly a few days a week. So when life gets in the way, and I can not get back in the gym for a month or two will go down a grade or two. Just keep climbing!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Momentum Indoor Climbing – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our gym has Climbing, Fitness, and Yoga. This location has been open for a year and a half and is based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. We are one of the largest bouldering-only gyms in the United States. We are different from most climbing gyms in the fact we have a full Fitness area and yoga room with classes daily. We are a one shop stop with amazing climbing and amazing community.

Our Community is safety conscious, friendly, and loves beer. We have a partnership with Buffalo Bayou, and when our 21+ climbers are done climbing, they can sit and have a free beer in our shop.

We are most proud of our Community we have built. We are building climbers in a town with no mountains.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
To keep crushing it!

We are constantly trying to build a curriculum to help build stronger and safer climbers.

We are still young, so no big plans as of now. We are just trying to provide a great space for climbers to come and connect with each out
