Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Holsomback.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a 37 years old, married, mother of two that treasures my family, friends and occasionally my time with a good Pinot Noir. Years ago, I found myself working in Corporate America with a distinguished job that I was proud to have, yet left me feeling unfulfilled and longing for more time with my children.
It was grueling and surely similar to the same life that every working mother struggles to balance. I eventually had that hard-hitting conversation with my husband and we agreed that we were blessed to be financially stable enough for me to make the switch from Corporate America to At Home Manager.
The first few months were met with joy and appreciation filled with the contentment of attending countless classroom parties, testing out new Crockpot dinners, and brunching at leisure in the middle of the week. That flame slowly flickered as I knew I was destined for more and longed to have it all. My imagination, excellent stress management skills, an acute eye for detail and the sheer thrill of watching a successful event unfold was truthfully one of the greatest loves in my heart. So what is a girl to do?
I quite literally woke up one day and decided that this would be the day that I claimed my destiny. I picked out the name that I would call this new baby and then jumped out into this big scary world. I decided on All Things Love- Event Planning.
Has it been a smooth road?
I struggled with my own insecurity of jumping out into the world of entrepreneurship and didn’t even know how to formulate a business plan. I wrestled with the thought of people judging me and even worse, what if I got laughed at for wanting to own a business. I began constantly researching marketing ideas, success rates, supply and demand, pricing and how to begin to build my portfolio.
I started off small and frankly, embarrassingly inexpensive in my fees as I needed to lean on my clients for experience and rapport. I attended countless business building seminars and web conferences and enrolled in an online business site to generate new leads. Before I knew it, years had passed and my name had gotten around and referrals and awards were pouring in.
It took a tremendous amount of falling down and mismanagement to get me to where I am today. The old adage that “you must crawl before you learn to walk” defined my growth in the entrepreneurial sector. I am overjoyed that my resume now reflects the work that I’ve done with many reputable companies and sensational individuals.
During the summer of 2016, I was thrilled to host an event that aided in my client to get his one dream from the Make A Wish Foundation and he got to meet JJ Watt. That same summer I facilitated an event that boasted the recording artists Salt-N-Pepa as the featured entertainment. It has been a long and treacherous road, however following my heart has led to me to still being able to attend every classroom party and extracurricular activity for my children, while allotting me to live the American Dream of owning my own company.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with All Things Love Event Planning – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
All Things Love – Event Planning..This name rings true in that each project is truly a labor of love and dedication.
Whether the event is a birthday party, graduation, baby shower, wedding, employee appreciation, quaint dinner party of colleagues, product launch, book signing, or a fundraising gala, there is always a sense of care and closeness when clients build the guest list and I respect that to the fullest.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have lived in the Houston area for majority of my life and am in love with the diversity and spirit of this community. I am the Secretary on The Board for The Rotary Club of Houston Skyline, was awarded The Rotarian of The Year award for 2019, I was an awarded honoree at the 2019 LCA Houston International Society Magazine Mother’s Day Soirée, was recognized in Katy Magazine as one of the top 100 Influential Women in the community, was the Co Chair for the E.S.S.I. Gala in 2018 benefitting United Against Human Trafficking, am a member of the Anti Human Trafficking Task Force for district 5890 and have worked with numerous nonprofits, corporate companies, and private events. I am a published author of the best selling book entitled, YOU CAN and am currently working on a second book. I do wish that the Human Trafficking rates were substantially lower so I will continue to work tirelessly for recovery efforts, rescue missions, and rehabilitation programs for these victims. Advocacy for this growing epidemic is key and getting informed and involved is important for the preservation of the community.
