Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jeanette Goodwill.
Dr. Goodwill, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was a senior at Prairie View A&M University sitting in Dr. Block’s seminar class listening to two speakers from Parker University. They spoke to us about chiropractic. At this time, I did not know anything about chiropractic. Only if you’ve gotten into a car accident you go to a chiropractor, but once I heard holistic healing, I knew this was the profession for me. I have always been a person who did not like to take medicine.
Class started January 2013 and I was excited to embark on this new journey. At this time, I have never been adjusted before and still didn’t understand chiropractic. So, I decided to get under care to see the benefits for myself. When I received my first adjustment at my atlas (c1), that was the most powerful adjustment and it changed my life completely. Headaches were instantly gone!
From the beginning of my doctorate program, I knew I wanted to focus on caring for the kiddos and pregnant mamas. Birth can be very traumatic for mom and baby. I immediately joined a pediatric group on campus and began taking training courses that focuses on pediatrics and pregnancy. I have learned so much through those courses that has shaped me into the ChiropracTOR that I am today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh no, definitely had some challenges throughout this program. Especially when my grandma passed away in February 2015 and five months later my mom passed away in July 2015. That was the most tough time, BUT God! I stayed the course, didn’t give up and got through it by the grace of God!
Inner Peace Chiropractic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am the owner of Inner Peace Chiropractic. I am a prenatal and pediatric Chiropractor that focuses on freeing the nervous system to allow for optimal function for mom and baby.
My purpose is to empower individuals and families in my community, so they elevate and express more health. My vision is a connected community that is living in peace functioning at their optimal best.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am most proud of building a brand that serves families especially pregnant moms and kids. Changing the lives of people through my healing hands has been rewarding. To quote the late great B.J. Palmer, “ The power that made the body, heals the body. It happens no other way.”
