In 2008 I started investing in Real Estate with the burst of the bubble, in 2010 I got laid off from a Tech company where I had been 13 years in service. The job market was kind of bad at that time in the Tech industry, so I started to look for other alternatives including putting my own business. After researching multiple options, I found a need that was undeserved. I knew about this, because when I was doing real estate investing I walked through many houses that needed to have the air clean from the previous owners who had left the house abandoned in a bad condition. A regular cleaning was not good enough to clean and sanitize these houses to have them ready for the next family who were going to live in it. Then I started looking for current solutions and technology available to do that and founded Earth Blue Systems. LLC.
The name is based on the fact that we use Ozone “O3” as one of the most effective solutions to clean, sanitize, and kill or remove all bad odors. The layer of Ozone on the earth has a blue color and it is an echo system of the earth.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many businesses it has its ups and downs, but consistency and perseverance are the key for success. The use of Ozone is not well known in the consumer side in the US, compared to other countries like China where they use Ozone in many applications including to wash and disinfect their fruits and vegetables at home. Also many people has a misconception about Ozone thinking that it is a pollutant and not a natural purifier.
So getting people to know and understand it better has been a big struggle. There are many people who need the service, but don’t know there is a solution for it and just have to live with it or mask the issue as much as they can. Lately with the help of other companies and adverting options that the internet provides, People has been able to find us and understand that there is a solution for their needs. With the results I’m able to provide and the satisfaction from many customers, people are now more confident on the service I provide and willing to try our services.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Earth Blue Systems – what should we know?
My company specializes in Odor Removal. We remove all kind of bad, faulty odors from properties or vehicles. Those odors that don’t go away by just cleaning or airing it out. The most common odors we treat are smoke odors created by people who smoke inside a house for many years and it is impregnated on walls and every piece of furniture in the house. Another one is the odor from pets, pets’ urine, where owners had 1 or multiple pets in the house for many years and that smell is attached to the house. Other odors have been skunks running inside the house, disease animals or people that were found in the house, curry odor from previous people who cooked with many species, and multiple other type of smells. We can do it pretty much all of them.
What makes me a part from others is that I like to treat my customers like I would like to be treated. First courtesy and punctuality. I can’t stand when you make an appointment with the cable guy and the give you a range of 3 to 4 hours, and they are still late. Or when you go to the doctor at a set time and they see you 2 hours after.
Second, I always look for customer satisfaction on the end results. If I’m not able to perform a job and get good results from it, I offer them a second or third treatment and or the option for a refund. And last, I’m a small business and don’t have the overhead that other big companies have, so I’m able to pass the savings on very affordable prices to the customers.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Technology changes and solutions varies depending on customers’ need, so there is no one solutions for every need. Since I started the company I had the need to adapt to new solutions that became available and also look for ways to have better results and more success where the customers always ended happy.

- Prices go up as the house size and the severity increases
- Usually price doesn’t go over 0.15 cents per sf.
