Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia Goldsmith.
Claudia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I first started making videos when I was in fourth grade; my dad taught me how to use a green screen and I couldn’t get enough. I continued to make videos throughout high school and that is when I became interested in media arts. Throughout high school, I spent most of my time making promotional videos for the district and had a few clients. In high school, I also developed an interest in photography and started using my friends as models for my portrait photography. Now that I’m a student at UNT, I am Executive Producer of the show Backline. Shown on NTTV, Charter 192 and Frontier 46, Backline is an entertainment show that explores different mediums of music, the music industry, and everything in between. I’m so proud to be working at NTTV because, Over the past 20 years, ntTV has grown to become one of the top student-run cable television stations in the United States. Over the years, I have definitely grown my skills to cover many facets of the media industry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My creative journey has been pretty smooth so far. I still get a little frustrated sometimes because I’m still getting to know the in’s and out’s of this industry. However, I love learning new things everyday and I’m up for new challenges.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As of now, I would describe myself as a Freelancer. I specialize in many things, but I am best at Video Production and Portrait Photography. Currently, I am focused on producing my TV show and finding talented and driven crew for production. Although Backline keeps me busy, I still find time to do Photography as well as working as a freelance Editor to further my career in the creative field.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as when you work hard for something that pays off in a big way. For example, I have been working for about three years at nurturing my producing and videography skills. Now all my hard work has paid off because I now am producing a show on a regional television network.
