Sam, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Amstill Stilley Roofing was founded in the summer of 1974 by our owner, Frank Stilley. Frank came home early from college due to the passing of his father prematurely and had to quickly find a way to support his mother. Driving through his neighborhood he noticed several homes were missing cedar shakes. Immediately he realized there was a large need for specialized repairs. He took his old beat up pickup truck and went from door to door offering to personally install new shakes to prevent leaks from occurring. Since 1974 we have had one mission, to install the best residential roofing system available for the customers’ satisfaction. At Amstill, we do one job at a time; the homeowner is our client, not a one-time customer. When we are working on your roof, we are only working on your roof. We believe in quality work, we are not volume based like our competitors. Amstill has grown into the leading residential re-roofing company in Houston. Since 1974 Amstill has installed over 25,000 new roofs with the majority of them taking place in what we specialize, one day service.
At Amstill we believe everyone is family, we are family owned and operated with highly trained staff. We are certified with all major manufacturers, not just one, allowing us to give you the best of all options. Our installers are also certified by the manufacturer by completing full length courses and exams to guarantee the best installs available.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing great has come about from an easy path. Amstill chooses the path less traveled in the roofing industry. The toughest years are during the droughts, but we have been blessed by previous customers that strongly believe and trust in Amstill.
