Today we’d like to introduce you to Theo Gervais.
Theo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Born in Houston’s Hiram Clarke area, I grew up in Sugarland.
Raised by a music-loving father and a creole cooking mother.
Music and entertainment have been a part of my life since the beginning. Always performing whether on stage, on camera, or in front of friends and family, I knew at a young age, I would end up in the entertainment in some fashion.
I took a short hiatus from my calling to play sports in high school and college but returned once I accompanied a friend to his studio session. I started writing music and put out a few songs that got some radio play.
I ended up parlaying that popularity of my music with my own “screwed and chopped” radio show at an internet radio station (GMT 90.3).
After connecting with some very influential people in the industry, I was able to get an interview I conducted to be published in XXL magazine. I started doing mini-docs on YouTube (ChowTime TV) which would eventually amass a quarter-million views.
Shortly thereafter, a new opportunity arouses with The New Amazing 102.5 FM in the form of a morning show called The Morning Grind which would allow me to be apart of millions of people’s morning routine 5 days a week.
I’m also now the host of Getting To Know You TV which appears on Comcast and AT&T Uverse.
I also host a traveling adventure show called Treasure Maps which will air on IGTV.
All this from a kid who used to record himself interviewing himself.
The next step will be myself as the next Aresenio Hall, the American Trevor Noah, the black Ryan Seacrest… the 1st Theo Gervais.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wouldn’t say I have had struggles but the road to where I am definitely wasn’t straight. They were twist and turns and valleys and peaks.
But the whole time, I knew what I wanted. I just had to meet the right people to help me along the way.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
What I deliver to the masses is what’s in me. I was born to do this. I was inspired by shows Reading Rainbow & Bill Cosby’s morning show with Fat Albert, The Brown Hornet, etc.
I loved how they were able to entertain and inform at the same time. This is what I want to deliver to the masses.
This what I will deliver, anything I get involved with will be a positive influence to all while still being entertained.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on being on your TV sets 5-7 days a week.
I will be playing the lead in an independent film coming soon… and hosting some of Houston’s and beyond hottest events.
