Meet Chris Moran of Bullet Grill House in Far North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Moran.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started off in the restaurant industry in high school. While in college, I was working at a pizza hut, they gave me the opportunity to move into management and I left college to pursue that career. They would send me into stores that were not doing well and I would turn them around and they would send me to another. After two store moves in two states, while also starting a family decided restaurant life was not optimal for raising a family and left to go back to school and finish my engineering degree. After about 12 years in the manufacturing industry, I still had the restaurant itch and started working at Ted Montana Grill part-time. Fast forward another 10 years later, my kids have graduated from college and moved on to their adult lives and I decided it was time to get back into the restaurant industry full time. I began planning Bullet Grill House in 2017 and opened officially 6/14/2019.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We had a construction delay after another mostly due to rain. The original plan was not for me to leave my regular job to run the restaurant full time, but the closer we were getting to finishing the building it became evident that I needed to be here full time to make sure things were getting done. I then stepped into the head chef role as well initially.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Bullet Grill House – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We are a grill and sports bar located in Pointblank, TX, close to Lake Livingston and the surrounding areas. We specialize in a fusion of southern barbeque with a sports bar themed setting. We take great pride in our clientele and strive to exceed their expectations by communicating with our surrounding community and inquiring about their needs. We smoke all our meats in house and take joy in the preparations. Our biggest reward is not only the smile our clients leave with but the recommendations they spread beyond our locals.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We plan to expand our current business by diving into the catering side of the biz by getting involved with the local corporate retreats and adding a private ballroom for special and/or private events.

Our three-year plan is to add additional locations to our brand. We would like to start the first expansion within the Huntsville/Conroe Areas. We would like to become an affiliate of the wedding venue that lives door to our Point Blank location and began marketing our services across the vast East Texas area to not only support the small business association but to also grow and spread our company by gaining the public knowledge needed for a successful business.
