Meet Steven Salazar of Wooster’s Garden in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Salazar.

Steven, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
14 years as a bartender, server, then manager, then beverage director for Kata Robata. Now I am Food & Beverage Director, Operating Partner for the Kirby Group. Expert in wine, sake, beer, liquor, cocktails, food.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding the Kirby Group and setting forth on this adventure together building great concepts in Houston has been a lifelong dream come true. I am grateful that the challenge of finding my place in the world with a group of people I respect has been achieved.

Wooster’s Garden – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Wooster’s Garden is known for being at the forefront of the cocktail scene in Houston. Our niche has always been staying ahead of the curve in new creative way to deliver flavorful unique cocktails to our guests. We love Houston, It is our home, and we hope we are building places where our guest bring their loved ones and closest friends because they want to share their favorite place in Houston.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Building a passionate team at Wooster’s Garden that exemplify the position of craft cocktail bartender. They have so much passion and drive to be the best and it’s an honor to work with them.
