Life and Work with Adriana Rueda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Rueda.

Adriana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a Nutrition and Diet Planning expert and a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

I’m originally from Venezuela, lived in Spain for a couple of years and then move to Canada five years ago. I also have a bachelor degree as a Chemical Engineer from USB, Caracas. I love chemistry and how it affects us all in our life. Everything is chemistry: the house where we life, the land, the air, the sea, the FOOD! And I love food and the way it influences our health and how many years we will live. Without food, we wouldn’t exist. “Let food be your medicine,” Hippocrates said.

After I graduated from university, I spent six months in Montreal perfecting my English and studying French. During those months I realized that for my body it was very easily to gain weight. With the change in the diet and lifestyle during those months, I gained over 25lb! Thing that had never happened before. I was very skinny when I got to Montreal. But I didn’t know anything about diet or exercise.

I just thought that I would always be skinny. But it wasn’t the case. It turns out that I have that “gene” that makes you gain weight just by looking at a cake. I saw my husband (boyfriend at the time) who ate (now I know that) pretty “bad” and he was very thin. So, it was something related to my genes and added to my habits. Because of this experience, I started taking an interest in the field. I certainly didn’t want to be overweight and struggle with my weight all my life like my mom and her sisters. So, I decided to learn about it and reverse that destiny, and in the process, I became in love with it.

I did so many diets. And tried different approaches. I even took pills, yikes! But six years ago, I started a path to wellness. I needed to know the facts about food and how it influences us all. After a few years, I got passionate about what I was learning every day and I felt it was my responsibility to share it and help others achieve what I have achieved. I learned about god habits, what foods we should include more of and what to be careful about.

Now, I help busy women to strategically create a blueprint to get their health in order, in a simple and de-stressing way. To stop craving sugar, heal themselves from the inside out, and avoid gaining the weight back. I help women to truly live the life they deserve with more energy and mental clarity to work on their business and take care of themselves and their family.

It’s now my passion now to teach people how to make a healthy lifestyle a norm in their life. I teach them how to heal themselves from any illness by listening to their bodies and give it what he craves.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all! I’ve had my ups and downs like everyone has, which is normal and necessary. The key is to get back up and never, ever give up.

When we start a wellness journey or a new plan to get our health in order, we will always find obstacles: parties, trips, friends, and family that don’t understand the process, social media trying to sell us a perfect body, etc. However, is the way we react to those obstacles and how quickly we recover that determines our success.

As I said, never give up, even if you find some obstacles. And never feel like a failure if you fall once or twice or seven times! There’s no perfect journey! Try again and again and again.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
As a Health Coach, I help busy women to strategically create a blueprint to get their health in order, in a simple and de-stressing way.

I’m known for “The Low-Carb Coach”, as I help my clients give-ups refined sugar and carbs which are the “white demons” in our food supply. I help them to stop craving sugar, heal themselves from the inside out, and avoid gaining the weight back.

I help women to truly live the life they deserve with more energy and mental clarity to work on their business and take care of themselves and their family. I help them make the changes they need in a smooth way, without stress so they can create new habits that last for life.

Who have you been inspired by?
My mom has always been an inspiration for consistency and hard work. She struggled all her life with her weight but has never felt like failure. I helped her change her habits and she managed to control her weight, and now at 70 years old, she feels very healthy.

My Mother-in-law has been an example that age is only in our minds. At 62 she acts, looks and feels like a 40-year-old woman. She is super healthy, active, friendly, adventurous, and never says she’s too old to do anything.
