Today we’d like to introduce you to Coneic Parker.
Coneic, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I received my license in Cosmetology in 2004. I started right out of beauty college as an Independent Contractor. This was before the wave of social media so your clientele was developed through word of mouth. I became an Educator with Farouk Systems in 2017. I also graduated the CHI Global Academy and am currently an Executive Master Level Educator with the company. I have the amazing opportunity to travel all over the United States sharing my passion for this industry through education. I also will return to school in the fall to finish my Instructors license.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I left Corporate American in 2003 at the time I was a single mother of two. Making the decision to become an entrepreneur was not an easy one and I was fearful about our future and my ability to provide for my children. This has been one of the most rewarding decisions I ever made!!! I have the amazing opportunity to do what I love everyday!!! This Industry has so many different options available to beauty professionals. The level of influences we have behind the chair can be mind-blowing as well. I am grateful EVERYDAY!!!!
The Beehive Salon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Beehive Salon is a boutique salon located in downtown Lake Jackson. I specialize in healthy hair growth, textured hair, short cuts, color, silk presses and hair extensions.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My client retention. I have watched my clients come to the salon as children with their moms to graduations, marriages, having children. Blessed!!! Plus, my client’s hair talks LOUD!!!! Lol!!! You can tell Coneic did their hair. I’m so proud of that!!!
