Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth McCreery.
Elizabeth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a child, I had severe dyslexia and wasn’t great at school. I tried several different trade jobs until I landed at a little flower shop in Texas City in 2003. I worked at several different independent shops through Galveston county till I found HEB. I worked my way up to management but found I didn’t care for it.
After a year of management, I stepped down and found the position I am in now, as a wedding consultant. I absolutely love working with brides and creating their perfect vision. I’ve been the consultant here for about 3-4 years.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
All and all, it’s been a smooth road to travel. I work a lot of weekends and miss time with my kids but it’s a job I love and I try to keep a healthy balance.
Please tell us about HEB Blooms League City Market.
I work for HEB Blooms in League City, Texas. I am the wedding consultant and head designer when it comes to weddings. I’m known for my ability relax brides and help them choose their flowers. I’ve actually chosen a brides flowers so fast it made her uncomfortable, but she loved them! Lol! I have an ability to meet a bride and see her vision within a few minutes. I’m great at envisioning a brides ideas and dreams all while keeping it in a budget. The thing that sets this location apart from the rest though is the amazing team of women that work here. I couldn’t do what o do without them.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Obviously, there are the dreams to have persevered with school and not given up. But! I love where I am and the ladies I work with. I’m grateful
