Today we’d like to introduce you to Fernando Aguilar.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Fernando. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started when I was younger in El Salvador. I grow up watching my uncle working with cameras and shooting commercials, my dad as well was always helping my uncle. We moved to Salt Lake City Utah and the I still thought it was a cool thing to grab a camera and see life through a lense. Since I could remember, I wanted to do that. Fast forward in my teens my dad bought our first camera, at that time it was just for fun just to go out and start filming things just to get the hang of it and to learn to how to use it. One of our friends from church asked us to film his wedding and we did.
As the years went by we kept practicing as much as we could, we could only get better and better. We moved to Houston Texas (KATY) we began still to film things here in Houston and we saw that there was a better market here for filming. We have had some practice and decided to keep upgrading our Cameras to the point we knew we had the right ones to provide great quality. Now I have worked with many people along the way and I am grateful for everyone that is giving me an opportunity to keep growing and learning. Each day that passes by I always learn something new, because we never stop learning.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road there has been some struggles along the way. There was times that I wouldn’t film anything and I even thought of not pursuing that career anymore. I kept pushing through, I have been patient, God has been good and now I’m taking pictures and filming more often as the days go by.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a freelance photographer and videographer. I take pictures and film weddings, graduations, birthday parties and any other event my clients want to remember for a lifetime. I am proud of myself and how far I’ve come, I see myself where I started and I see myself where I am now, let me just tell you God is Good.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city is a great place to start, Houston is so diverse and it has so many beautiful people. There is always someone looking for a photographer or a videographer.
