Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamarcus Lewis-Washington.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started writing when I was a freshmen at Tyler Junior College in Tyler TX, I knew I had a talent for it when my writing professor at the time in creative writing would actually let me take over his classes. At first it started as just writing short stories and just writing for social media and sharing my work and then some of my work got to the hands of others in the Dallas area and I started writing scripts for different artist for stageplays and songs.
That made me want to start my own company with the help and push of family and friends I branched out and start writing scripts from short stories I’ve created over time. I’ve written for numerous artist that led to writing plays for artist in the Houston area. I pride myself on putting out a quality product when it comes to writing a stage play. With my writing style I leave you on the edge of your seat makes you want more. I’ve been writing for over seven and a half years and I love it. I love writing a play that helps others as creating a storyline that others experience in life telling someone’s stories who’s battling cancer, or depressions or just creating a play that helps someone get out an abusive relationship I just love creating that’s outside the box. Most playwrights play it safe I’m one of those playwrights that doesn’t.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This ride hasn’t been the smoothest at all. I’ve had times that I’ve wanted to give up simply because things aren’t happening fast as I want them to happen far as failed productions Because of lack of funding for venues. Or even just getting down on my self cause others don’t take me as serious as others all because I don’t have an abundance of stageplays on my résumé but it all comes back to god doing things in gods timing so I grind hard getting my brand more exposure by writing for others. And once others see my work they pass it along to others then others hear about my talent they are more than eager to work with me. That’s why I call myself a hidden gem in this playwright industry.

My company FloeticPassions is writing based company that specializes in stageplays and songwriting. I’m known for my dramatic writing style. My style leaves you on the edge of your seat it makes you want more. I literally gone outside the box which sets me apart from other playwrights. What I’m most proud of is the fact that I never gave up even when people didn’t believe in my talent, I made them believe. Even when pitching a script to someone I’m so confident with my work that every time my ending to every pitch is I guarantee it’s something you won’t regret being a part of” every-time lol I’m just that confident it’s not a cocky thing it more of I’m that confident that I’m different from other playwrights.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition personally I would say being helpful honestly is me being successful not the fame the money all the recognition it’s simply just helping someone with something I’ve created. If what I write can help someone through anything negative they have going on their life if what I create can help them get out of it or just entertain them keeping them laughing or anything then that right there is success to me.
